Welcome to Traditional Chinese Medicine!

 Welcome to Traditional Chinese Medicine!

A holistic approach to health is what is known as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). There are two primary ideas: first, that the body is an integrated whole that requires holistic treatment; and second, that a thorough evaluation of all symptoms is necessary for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was supposedly founded in what is now China about four thousand years ago. The United States has a smaller but increasing following for this type of health care, in contrast to its widespread use in Russia, Asia, and portions of Europe.

The Chinese government determined that this method of health care was effective enough to keep using it in the 1950s after conducting a study. Because of how well it worked, the government actively supported the development and extension of this healthcare model. Combining TCM with allopathic treatment—which ignores the whole person in favor of treating just their symptoms—is a popular and effective strategy.

There are a variety of distinct schools of thought within TCM, yet there are also established concepts. Both primary and specialty care can be provided by TCM.

This method of healing is based on the following five tenets:

1. The laws of the cosmos govern everything in it, and since you are a part of it, you must also follow those laws.

2. If you adhere to the laws of the universe, you will also find that it is inherently organized and harmonious.

Third, because everything in the universe is always shifting, it is unhealthy to be stuck in a rut.

4. This approach to health care emphasizes the need of considering the entire person in order to prevent and treat sickness, based on the principle that all life is interconnected.

5. We have a connection to and are a part of the Universe. To avoid getting sick, it is wise to pay attention to what is around you.

Even while not everyone is on board with traditional Chinese medicine, more and more people, including doctors, are starting to see that treating symptoms with potentially harmful pharmaceuticals is a band-aid solution that will not go to the root of the problem. The optimal course of action appears to be a synthesis of the two main theoretical frameworks.

Alternative health care has been around for a long time; surely it must have something good to offer after all that time! So, it is in your best interest to educate yourself on the subject.
